Job Category: Graphic Design
Job Type: Internship

The Empower Panchayat Project works closely with panchayats (village councils) to identify their needs, aspirations, and challenges. We then use communication strategies, including visual storytelling, to empower them to advocate for themselves and achieve tangible improvements in their communities.

About the Role:

As our Graphic Design Intern, you’ll play a vital role in crafting visually compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences – from rural villagers to policymakers. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Conceptualize and design impactful graphics, illustrations, and infographics that communicate complex information in a clear and engaging way.
  • Develop creative assets for various platforms, including website banners, social media graphics, presentations, and reports.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators, community members, and fellow interns to ensure designs align with project goals and cultural contexts.
  • Adapt existing design materials for different languages and audiences.
  • Gain valuable experience in working within a non-profit organization and contributing to social impact.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A self-motivated and resourceful individual with a strong sense of social responsibility.
  • A passionate graphic designer with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex ideas into visual narratives.
  • An understanding of Indian culture and rural communities is a plus.
  • Openness to learning new things and exploring different design approaches.

What We Offer:

  • A unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful social change and empower rural communities.
  • Hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Professional development through mentorship and workshops.
  • A flexible internship schedule with remote work options.

To Apply:

Please submit your resume and a portfolio of your work demonstrating your ability to communicate complex information through visuals. In your cover letter, tell us why you’re passionate about the Empower Panchayat Project and how you see your design skills contributing to its success.

Join us and be a part of empowering rural communities through the power of design!

Please Note: This internship is unpaid but offers invaluable experience and potential future freelance opportunities within the project.

We look forward to hearing from you!
